Salamanca, is the first in the Brittany Ferries fleet to be powered by LNG (liquefied natural gas) fuel and is the only direct route to sail from Rosslare to Bilbao  A sister ship to Galicia, launched in 2020.  Salamanca is the greenest ship yet. Its whole design is built around efficiency and lowering emissions, and the first LNG-powered ferry to connect Ireland with mainland Europe.

Ed found himself transported to Spain even before he set sail.   Inspired by the charms of the beautiful city that it is named after, Salamanca is a feast for the senses.  With delicious tapas and Spanish food on the menu, a decor that reflects the landscape, and artworks by homegrown artists, you'll feel like you've already arrived at your destination.   There are no luggage weight or liquid restrictions when you travel by ferry, so you don’t have to worry about those 100ml restrictions on your aftershave or toiletries.   I thoroughly enjoyed filling my car with amazing value wines from Bodega Alutiz and Carlos San Pedro in the beautiful medieval town of Laguardia nestles in the Rioja Alavesa region.
